AMY KNAUFF

5 Year Participant of the Lung Run

Connection to Lung Cancer:
Lost mother, Elaine Wolfe, in September, 2005

It has been a wonderful healing for our family to know that the Lung Run exists, that people care enough to make a difference and that the memory of our loved ones lives on."

Amy Knauff...In Her Own Words…

My mom, Elaine Wolfe, died of lung cancer Sept. 22, 2005. Two weeks prior to her death was the very first Lung Run. Many of my family members were signed up to run/walk that year; but we didn't know if we would make it due to her failing health at that time. She encouraged us to come out that year, and we ended up having so many friends and family members who joined us. It meant so much to my mom that the run existed and that so many people were running in honor of her.

Every year since, somebody from our family participates in the run either to volunteer, run, or walk in memory of my mom. It has been a wonderful healing for our family to know that the Lung Run exists, that people care enough to make a difference and that the memory of our loved ones lives on.
