Connection to Lung Cancer:
Lost her mother to lung cancer in November 2007

I run for her. I run because I can! I also run to beat the odds of cancer that my mother and grandmother could not.”

Margaux Mays...In Her Own Words…

My mother lost her battle with lung cancer on November 28, 2007. She was a positive, outgoing woman who remained that way through every chemotherapy and radiation treatment she received the two years she fought the disease. I run for her. I run because I can! I also run to beat the odds of cancer that my mother and grandmother could not. I’m not an elite runner, nor have I set any record breaking race times, but participating in the Chicago 5k Lung Run gives me the opportunity to honor my mother and help support others affected by lung disease.
