Connection to Lung Cancer:
Lost grandmother, Rosalyn, to lung cancer
I miss my grandmother very much and wanted to run the Chicago 5K Lung Run in honor of her and what she meant to me throughout my life. I sincerely thought of her with each step I ran in the race.”
Lisa Wilkie...In Her Own Words…
On Mother's Day in 1989, my Grandmother, Rosalyn Ludwig was diagnosed with lung cancer. She was a former teacher, who raised 9 children, including my mother on a farm in Farley, Iowa. She was one of the most positive, hard working, laid back and fun people I've ever met in my life. My Grandmother passed away in 1990 while I was a freshman in high school. I miss her very much and wanted to run the Chicago 5K Lung Run in honor of her and what she meant to me throughout my life. I sincerely thought of her with each step I ran in the race.
